Five things i heard this week
• We need to surrender our desire for false gods
• What a mystery, That you notice me, And in a crowd of ten thousand, You don’t miss a thing–“You Don’t Miss A Thing” by Amanda Cook
• Co-worker: Hey, Adrienne, could I ask you a grammatical question? Me: hahaha hahahaha, hahahaha…oh, wait, you’re serious?
• Mary Oliver on praying…it doesn’t have to be the blue iris, it could be weeds in a vacant lot, or a few small stones; just pay attention, then patch a few words together and don’t try to make them elaborate, this isn’t a contest but the doorway into thanks, silent in which another voice may speak.
• Gah, that sucks…Gah!…sucks so bad…Gah!…(the sound of a game control whizzing through air, a thud as hits the carpet)…Gah, that sucks!
