friday’s five, may 19

Here are some things I heard this week. What have you heard?

  • We have a hundred years to establish life on another planet before it’s too late (hmmmmm.)

  • Temper (verb) — to soften, to harden, to make more resilient, to attune (click here to read the full story)

  • From Rita Springer’s new release Battles
    • You go before I know
That You’ve gone to win my war
You come back with the head of my enemy
You come back and You call it my victory

  • I would love to have a further conversation about your resume/interest in our organization. (finally!)

  • I heard the sound of one of my students unsuccessfully try not to pass gas during lesson. My younger students will immediately joke or apologize while laughing, but this student is a preteen and embarrassed. So I made the choice to ignore it. But when he did it the second time I went ahead and asked, “Barking spiders?”  The tension broke, he laughed, and, yep, did it again for the third time.

There are the three things you need to know about me. I am a child of God, and I love being about his business; I have a gigantic heart for discipleship, worship, leadership, and creative things; I could eat BBQ morning, day, and night. For more information, see the ABOUT page
