Five things i heard this week

  • I heard the Yankees were in the postseason!
    • On that note …. I heard the radio announcer cleaning his teeth or fixating with his dentures (maybe) while reporting the Yankee’s game today. O man, it was rough.
  • What your soul things is a crisis, your inner man perceives as an opportunity
  • I heard a six year old piano student play sixteenth notes like a pro. (That’s pretty fast.) Consequently, I also saw his smile reach from ear to ear. I love it when they know that they know they naaaaiiiiled iiiit!
  • So, 2017 has been an out-on-a-limb season for me. Quite uncomfortable, really, even with its perks. During a worship service this week, we took some time to just listen to the Holy Spirit. I heard/saw Jesus with at the end of the limb say, “Alright, come out a little a further now.” What?! I’m only in the middle of this limb–golly gee whiz! I was compelled to respond (with a small eye roll), “Okay. I trust you.”
  • Bonus: Great things never came from comfort zones
