Five things I heard this week. What did you hear?
- mutatis matandis – with the necessary changes having been made
- “I have always been firm in the belief that…ministry is was going to be built on the things that we are for, and not on the what we are against. We are for Jesus. We are for love. We are for his grace and forgiveness, for the healing and wholeness and transformed lives that come with saying yes to a relationship with Christ.” Brian Houston in Live Love Lead
- The place where Captain James Cook’s ship, the Endeavor, crashed into the Great Barrier Reef (a really, really long time ago) is now called Cape Tribulation. He and his crew survived by throwing objects overboard to lighten the weight of the ship. They were able to float above the reef with the lighter load. (Hmm.)
- Resistance
- Yielding to resistance makes us dull
- Resistance will tell you anything to keep you from work
- Resistance bypasses today by always pointing to tomorrow
- When [Goliath] arose and came and drew near to meet David, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet the Philistine. 1 Samuel 17:48 (I eventually get to the battle line…after I take a nap, strategize, eat second breakfasts, get a confirmation, etc…)
