friday’s five, january 19

Here are five things I heard this week. What have you heard?

  • This God–his way is perfect. Psalm 18:30
  • You don’t have to be a bulldozer to be powerful.
    • As an example, let’s consider the impala.  An impala’s leap can be over nine feet high (that’s taller than Goliath!)…over 10 yards in distance (that’s a first down)… It’s roar can be heard over a mile away (who knew they had a roar?)
  • Driving out fear with love is the best, if not only, way to reconnect broken or struggling relationships. It lowers defenses.
  • You don’t always have to chop with the sword of truth. You can point with it, too — Anne Lamott
  • The good news is that God has addressed human corruption from outside the system, and it is on this gracious initiative that Christian hope centers — Cornelius Plantinga Jr.
  • Bonus: UAB Blazer Baseball starts on Feb 16 at Regions Field–I’ll be there! Yankees start in 69 Days!

There are the three things you need to know about me. I am a child of God, and I love being about his business; I have a gigantic heart for discipleship, worship, leadership, and creative things; I could eat BBQ morning, day, and night. For more information, see the ABOUT page
