Friday’s Five, september 14

Here are five things I heard this week. What did you hear this week that sticks out?

  • Our culture is obsessed with being beautiful, but God has adorned us forever with the beauty of His son
  • It’s the process that makes us rich, not arriving at the outcome
  • Shame leads to hiding and isolation, which in turn leads to self-focus and resistance to wise counsel and learning
  • “Shall” is not a suggestion, it means must  —  And He shall (must) be their peace — Micah 5:5.
  • “Trust is the emotional oxygen to the human soul. That’s what the nurse announced as she taught us the five reasons a newborn cries. Every cry is an opportunity to build trust.  1. They’re cold 2. They’re hot 3. They’re hungry 4. They’re soiled 5. They’re in pain. And I realized how very basically human we all are no matter our age. — Lisa Terkeurst

There are the three things you need to know about me. I am a child of God, and I love being about his business; I have a gigantic heart for discipleship, worship, leadership, and creative things; I could eat BBQ morning, day, and night. For more information, see the ABOUT page
