#3 Joy Loves Company
The fearless, curious shepherds left their fields and found Mary and Joseph and the baby lying in the manger, just as the angel had said. (Luke 2:15-19)
I love so many things about these verses. I love that the shepherds told people what happened and …all who heard it wondered. As a mother, I love and understand why …Mary treasured up all these things. Today, though, I’m kind of in awe that God didn’t allow Jesus to be born in secret.
Jesus did not come to earth out of no where or in a hidden way. The good news of great of joy was born into a family. God led Mary and Joseph to an inn that was fully booked. There were people around to hear the birthing and cries of new life. God drew in the shepherds to see this perfect lamb swaddled up exactly as the angel said he would be.
Good news of great joy loves company. It needs/wants to be heard and seen.
