One of my favorite phrases of the Christmas season is ‘…the hopes and fears of all the years are met in Thee tonight,” from the carol O Little Town of Bethlehem. The picture of our deepest longing being satisfied and of our fears being extinguished in Jesus is wonderful. That holy night thousands of years ago changed everything. The truth of this phrase reaches us today as we wait for his return. And once again, our hopes and fears will be met in Jesus as he makes all things new. The Spirit and bride say come!
Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms…I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. John 14:1-3
