Israel was in her darkest hour. The city had been destroyed, and the community had been scattered. In the middle of the bleakness and pressure to conform to other cultures, God sent a faithful word through a faithful servant.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
As the Body of Christ, we get to live in the hope and future Jeremiah that prophesied. Isn’t that amazing? And we are waiting in hope for Jesus’ return when all things will be made new, and there will be no more tears. It’s hard to fathom, but it’s a future worth an investment.
But today, I want to speak to the individual who feels like life has been disrupted. To the person who feels unraveled. To the one in pain. To you weighed down in hopelessness. Hey friend! You are not forgotten, and you are not alone. Your story doesn’t end here. The plans of the Lord are not to harm you, don’t believe that lie. Your future isn’t destitute. It’s pregnant with life and solid in Christ. He hears your cries, even the ones you can’t release. He will gather you and restore you. I shine of beacon of hope for you today as you wait. I send it like an arrow into your soul and spirit. This isn’t the end of your story. Hang on!
The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Psalms 34:18
