There’s a theory or two out there about expansion. If you make room for something, it will expand to fill the space. Though those theories derive from work and productivity, I believe it rings true for hope as well, especially in regards to discipleship.
Hope will expand to fill the space we make for it. As we grow as disciples, moving from infants to maturity, our faith and trust will grow in God’s reliability and faithfulness. Despite delays and doubts, our expectation (hope) of God’s faithfulness will grow too. I don’t know about you, but I pray my faith and hope never stop growing. On earth (in me) as it is in heaven.
I want to encourage you today to look back on your discipleship journey and see how far you have come. Rejoice in the growth you see from different seasons! Then see if you can make a little room for more… more faith, more hope.
Is there room in your inn today for more? Is there room in your womb for more?
He has filled the hungry with good things… Luke 1:53 (part of Mary’s song of praise as she was pregnant with Jesus)
