There’s a lot of wonder and mystery about this passage—Christ in you, the hope of glory. I kind of love that; it keeps me asking Jesus for more understanding.
For today I’m lost in thought over the different ways to consider glory.
- The hope of heaven — On earth as it is in heaven
- The hope of honor — Professing Jesus’ name above every name
- The hope of worship — Now is the time for true worshipers
Just a few thoughts. Those things occur because of Christ dwelling in us. As much as he is our inheritance (see yesterday’s posts), we are Jesus’ inheritance (Ephesians 1:18). This mystery hidden through the ages is what he’s been dreaming of from the foundations of the earth.
And, well, the thing is, we’re just getting started. We look back and think 2000 years is so long ago, and even further into history that’s hard to fathom. But, it’s a blink in comparison to forever.
We are just getting started. The hope of glory is just getting started, and we get to do it with Jesus forever. Amazing!
Jesus, we long for you right here, right now; and we are eagerly waiting for your return.
