No. 1 Foundation and Lordship
We pray for the Church of America that her foundation would be the confession ‘Jesus is Lord and Savior’, and from that foundation only would we be built. That Christ would be our head, he is before all things. Jesus, surround us like a fortress with your Lordship, that the gates of hell will not prevail against your church. We come into agreement with the kingdom of heaven and co-labor together. Amen. Matthew 16:13-19, Colossians 1:15-20
No. 2 Preeminence and First Love
We pray for the church of America that we would remember you are first. You are the beginning, Jesus. You are our first love. You are holding all things together. We come into agreement with the word of God that you will be preeminent in all things, starting with the church, your body, Jesus. We divorce the world* and reunite with our first love and our first work, the Gospel of Jesus. Amen. Colossians 1:15-20, Revelation 2:1-7 (*from Michael Koulinas)
No. 3 Wisdom and Surrender
We pray for the church of America that the fear of the Lord would be the beginning of our wisdom. That the Holy Spirit would be welcomed into our hearts and halls, that the conviction of the Spirit — the Spirit of Christ — would keep us grounded in truth and not deceit. That we would be willingly surrendered to the Spirit’s lead, and in surrender become aware of our commonalities, our communion. Amen. Proverbs 9:10, Acts 5:1-11
No.4 Unity
We pray for the Church of America that we would be gathered, draw us together again. We echo the prayer of Jesus, that we would be one with you and one with each other. We declare unity over the church — one body, one Spirit, one baptism, one hope, one faith in your name, Jesus. Help us walk in a manner worthy of the calling. We lift you up, we exalt you above every other name, draw us back to you. Amen. John 17, Ephesians 4:1-6, John 12:27-36
No. 5 Resolution and Agreement
We pray for the church of America that she would be wise and intentional with resolving sin and conflict. We cherish the promise that when we gather together in your name, you are with us. Teach us the difference between gathering in your name and using your name in vain. We come into agreement with your word, Jesus, that we bind and loose things together on earth and in heaven. Thank you for co-laboring with us. Amen. Matthew 18:15-20, Matthew 16:13-19
No.6 Prophecy and Truth
We pray for the Church of America that prophecy would be restored and released. We come into agreement with your word, Jesus, that prophecy edifies the church, and is a gift of the Holy Spirit for our benefit. Help us silence the accuser by stopping words of condemnation, shame, curses, and falsehood. We are co-laborers with the Kingdom of God, a Kingdom of righteousness, peace, and joy! Amen. 1 Corinthians 14:2-5, Romans 14:17-19
No.7 Purity & Victory
We pray for the Church that we would live in the purity provided through the blood of Jesus, that we would live from the victory and inheritance we have as the Bride of Christ. On earth, as it is in heaven! A spotless bride for the Spotless Lamb, what a match! We echo the songs of heaven today, “Worthy is the Lamb, Holy Holy Holy is the Lord God Almighty.” We’re making ourselves ready for you, Jesus! Amen! Revelation 19: 7 & 11, Ephesians 5:25-33, Matthew 6:10, 1 John 7
