Let’s pick up from yesterday in Psalm 85. The psalmist continues by drawing a line from peace to righteousness. Love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other (Psalm 85:10). What an intimate description. When we surrender and walk in righteousness, we get up close and personal with peace. They come together.
Isaiah connects righteousness peace too. He writes, The effects of righteousness will be peace. The results of righteousness will be quietness and trust. My people will abide in peaceful and secure places (Isaiah 32:17-18).
And, of course, the most beautiful thing about these verses is that they are leading us to Jesus, King of Righteousness, Prince of Peace.
Friends, the days ahead in this series are immensely wonderful as we look at Jesus!
