Let’s take a look at what James says about wisdom and peace. I think it’s a good follow-up to being peacemakers. James 3:13-19
- Good conduct looks like humility and wisdom.
- The opposite of wise, good conduct is jealousy, selfish ambition, deceit — these unspiritual, demonic works create disorder and every vile practice. Yikes!
- But, wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.
- And, a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. That’s a promise and a call to action.
As peacemakers, as sons and daughters of God, we sow peace with our thoughts, words, actions, prayers, so on. I do not want to team up with jealousy and selfishness — there is enough disorder in the world. Amen?! I want to team up with wisdom and peace and reap a harvest of righteousness. That’s what we need, a harvest of righteousness.
