Day 21: Fruit of Peace

Consider the difference between baking a cake from scratch (all the steps, all the measurements, all the prep, all the waiting) from that of attending a wedding where cake is served to invited guests (professionally baked, decorated, sliced, and handed to you on a platter.) That’s a picture of the difference between striving for peace and living from peace that has already been produced for us.

Peace is a product of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22). We’ve been invited into Spirit life, and it is our best life. He was sent to help us. The Spirit always leads us back to the Father and Jesus (John 16:13-15).

When pursuing peace, or any kingdom treasure, feels like a burden, our approach needs adjustment. I’m learning to stop and engage with the Holy Spirit. He leads us to what is already prepared so that we can partake. And as we communion with him, kingdom life becomes evident in our lives.

Holy Spirit, we acknowledge you! Thank you! Thank you for leading us and producing the kingdom of heaven in our lives.

  1. This is so good! I loved the cake metaphor. I need to hear “When pursuing peace, or any kingdom treasure, feels like a burden, our approach needs adjustment.“ Thank you!
