Jesus prepared the disciples for his departure. In the middle of his last teachings, before he is betrayed and arrested, Jesus assures them. His word are still alive and active today. They apply to us in our day-to-day lives and circumstances. They apply to us collectively as the church waiting for Jesus to return.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid … I say these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. John 14:27 / John 16:33.
