Following is a vision I had on January 3, 2022 while in worship & prayer
The Vision
As I was laying on my face in worship, I began to see a picture of activity in the spirit realm. The heavenly one. The vision was of one area in particular.
An unseen source of light backlit the area the same way the sun gives light on a cloudy day. The light was different from the color of the sun, less harsh but brighter. Every moving thing in this space, even the heavenly creatures, reflected this light.
The first moving, living thing I saw looked like a circle. It was rotating as it spun around the area. There was no pattern to its movement, but neither was it wild. It moved in a rhythm. As it moved around, the edges caught (reflected) the light and flared in a burn—the way paper or wood catches fire, glowing from one part to the next.
There were other circles too differing in sizes and speeds. They each moved independently but in orchestration, a rhythm. Among them were also spheres. Several circles locked together. When they caught the light, they would speed up and swirl and then slow down again.
As the circles of light spun around the space in rhythm but not in pattern, I could hear praises inside them. “Holy holy holy is the Lord Almighty,” echoing round and round. From the same place as the source of light, other voices replied, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain. Worthy is the Lamb on the throne.” The echoes and the responses created a surround sound effect. I could feel the praise rumbling.
I realized I was watching these things take place from above, leaning over the edge of something looking down. I could feel and hear the brush of wings around me — a sure, comforting presence.
In the corner of my eye, I saw a hand throw brokenness into the air. I wondered if the hand belonged to Jesus and sensed that it did. Thousands of pieces in the air as if in slow motion, catching the light too. Like a disco ball reflecting light, the broken pieces threw arches (bows) of color around the space as they descended. Brokenness was then beautiful.
I watched water from below reach up like hands pulling the broken pieces down in a giant splash. It was a river and it was living. Again and again, the water reached until each piece had been gathered. The colors that brokenness reflected from the light were now filling the water—like bevelled glass.
These things occurred simultaneously—circles of light, surround-sound praises, brokenness, bows of colors, splashes, the living water.
As I watched to see where the water was flowing, I saw Jesus walking with a woman along the banks of the river. The banks were flourishing, and each of its parts reflected the light. Jesus kneeled by the river and cupped some water in his hands. He gave it to the woman to drink; she drank from his hand and smiled. “Would you like some more?” he asked. “Yes,” she replied. He led her by the hand into the River. Farther, he led the woman until she was completely immersed. I realized then this woman was the Church.
Jesus began to lead the Church up from the water. He had never let go of her hand. As she surfaced, she came out of the water a bride. She was completely pure but her robe had streaks of colors running together like wet paint. The same way the living creatures, the broken pieces, and the sea reflected the light by displaying colors, the Bride’s covering was many colors in a setting of purity!
As these things happened, the heavenly creatures praised, “Only The Lamb can do this!” As they praised, I felt the brush of wings around me again.
Jesus, the bridegroom, led her out of the water by the hand, back to the banks of the river. Her new robes of colors covered her completely. The swirl of colors continued like a long train as they walked. I stretched to watch them, wondering with giddy if it was to the wedding.

Some Thoughts
I’m so grateful for this hopeful, joyful picture!
I believe this vision is a picture of what Jesus will do with our broken state as a church: throw our brokenness into marvelous light, let the living water heal the brokenness, immerse us in Spirit, and clothe us in purity that displays our parts rightly and interacting with each other in harmony not division — a glorious display of what he can do. All of heaven is waiting and rejoicing in this healing, in this union, in this preparation.
The main focus is the church and how Jesus, the Lamb of God, is leading us to wholeness and unity (all the circles) — and it’s something only he can do. It’s painfully obvious that the Body of Christ is broken right now. We are fighting within ourselves over insignificant things, and we are not celebrating the parts that make us one body. There is little unity, and that needs to change. But the only way for this change to occur is for us to come under the leadership of the Lamb of God, who leads us to springs of living water — who is the head of the body of Christ — who made a way for us to be whole — who is the King and knows how to lead us.
If this type of healing and union is something that only the Lamb of God can do, what part do we play? Perhaps, the greatest thing about this vision is that the pressure is off me to make it happen. It’s off you too. Jesus is healer and deliverer. Jesus takes the heavy burden and gives us his light yoke. But, we can align ourselves with him and what he is doing. Here are some ways I am committing to pray and act to be in step with Jesus as part of his bride.
My Commitment to Prayer
1. For the Body of Christ to be surrendered to Jesus as our head — looking to him as the author and finisher of our faith and befriending the Holy Spirit.
2. For the Body of Christ to see and confess our need for each of her parts — we need each other.
3. For the Church to be a display of God’s holiness, wisdom, redemption, joy — glory!
My Commitment to Action
1. Stop agreeing with the accuser of the brethren. Stop engaging in conversations that are not honoring to the Body of Christ. Stop gossiping, bad-mouthing, sowing seeds of doubt and suspicion, etc. about ministers, ministries, churches, movements.
2. In addition to serving/supporting my local church, to get out and see a bigger picture of what God is doing. Find other, different ministries and churches to serve/support too — with gladness and thanksgiving for what the Lord is doing in all kinds of ways throughout the world.
3. Remember to ask the Holy Spirit how to pray, scriptures to agree with, pictures of hope and progress.
