Day 3: Inseparable, Romans 8:31-39
Saul knew the law. He knew how to judge others, how to coerce, and how threaten people. But he had an encounter one day. Not with the law of death, but with the law of Spirt of life.
Jesus met (was with) Saul on the road called Damascus. It catapulted a transformation. Saul to Paul. Pharisee to son. Tyrant to shepherd.
Can you imagine the understanding he had as he wrote these verses? Does God’s inseparable love for us resonate with you?
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? … No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. for I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:31-39
We can choose to live without God, but nothing separates us from his love and his willingness to redeem us, and, I believe, his beckoning to come and follow him.
This is Emmanuel — He is for us, intercedes for us, and with him (unseparated), we are more than conquerors. Romans 8
That is a great description of Paul’s transformation, and accurate. God bless!
