Day 6: You In?

Day 6: You In?, Exodus 3:11-12 & Jeremiah 1

Moses’ qualification to go before Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt had nothing to do with a skill set. It was God’s promise to be with him.

Moses replied, Who am I that I should go before Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?

God’s response was straight to the point.

“But, I will be with you….” Exodus 3:11-12

What qualified Jeremiah to go where God sent him and to speak what he commanded was God’s fear-annihilating presence. And, bonus, God promised to put his words into Jeremiah’s mouth. (vs.9)

“Ah, Lord, God! Look. I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth. But the Lord said to me, Do not say, ‘I am only a youth; for to all to whom I send you, you will go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, declares the LORD.” Jeremiah 1:6-8

It is the same for us. Store these words in the depths of your hear—I am with you. God’s promise to be with us is an empowering invitation to do crazy things in the Kingdom of God.

Can you hear the Lord Almighty saying it to you?

_________ (insert your name), I am with you. That’s who you are! I’m your identity. Do not be afraid. I qualify you. I called you to this. It’s my word in your mouth. You in?”

This is Emmanuel — “I am with you. You In?”
