Day 22: Commissioned

Day 22
Commissioned, Matthew 28:16-20

After his resurrection, Jesus met with his disciples and commissioned them,

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have spoken.

That commission is sandwiched between two amazing promises.

Jesus starts with
All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me

He ends with
Behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.

All of him with us. Why? To make disciples.

We are walking, talking demonstrations of the Kingdom of Heaven wherever we are:
Grocery store, carpool, hole 6 of 18, road trips, preaching to masses, teaching a class of 10, one-on-one conversations, shaking hands with strangers, hospital rooms, mid-week at the office, holidays, church, special events, movie night, game night.

Kingdom opportunities are all around us, and the authority to make the most of them dwells in us.

This is Emmanuel: All of Jesus with us as we go and make disciples.
