Brave Sparrow Updates

Summer 2025 Update

In January, I felt the Lord bring the move to Atlanta to the front burner. I won’t get into all the details, but I will say, after inquiring with the Lord, listening, and seeing a couple of dreams/words coming to fruition, I think it’s time. I recently met with my advisory board as well, and we are all in agreement. (By the way, I have the best advisory board!)

So, I put in a request with my part-time job to transfer to the NW area of Atlanta, and have found a lot of favor for a smooth transition. It looks like the move will take place later this summer.

As a quick reminder, in 2022, I felt like I was in a ‘sell everything you have and follow’ moment with the Lord. The main objective was to start Brave Sparrow and get some resources flowing, which is what I’ve been doing. With that, I knew the Lord had also put Atlanta on my radar. I
think this is two-fold. One, there is a church there that overwhelmingly feels like home. Second, in a different part of Atlanta, there is a 24/7 House of Prayer where I can also serve in some capacity.

Just to be clear, Brave Sparrow will continue creating resources on discipleship, leadership, and worship, but will move its headquarters to the Atlanta metro area.

There are still a few details to iron out, mainly housing. I am fighting some fear, just to be honest. But for the most part, I’m pretty excited and in awe of God’s continued kindness.

I would be so grateful if you join me in prayer for the short few weeks of transition ahead. Below are some specific needs and ways to pray, as well as a verse I am daily feasting on.

  • Support: Brave Sparrow is a support-based mission. I remain at 38% percent of my full-time goal. My part-time job helps, but Atlanta, in general, is more expensive.
  • Housing. Biggest hurdle.
  • Moving Expenses
  • Psalm 65: That I continue to dwell in God’s courts and drink from the river of God and be satisfied. That he will water my furrows (deficiencies) and settle my ridges (fears). That he will crown this year with bounty. And that I will clothe myself in his goodness.

Thank you for your continued support and friendship as I keep moving forward with this and Brave Sparrow.

If you feel led to financially give towards this leg of the journey, the information is below and on the GIVE page.

Spring 2025 Update

A couple of years ago, I felt the Lord asking me to make more room for writing and creating resources for the church in discipleship, worship, and leadership. It felt like a ‘sell everything you have and follow’ moment. So I did. Since then, through Brave Sparrow, I have written a couple more books, have a thriving blog, started worship and prayer moments, had a quarterly journal, Vigilance, in 2024 (hope to reprise that in the future), and I have the opportunity to speak and teach a few times each year, which is amazing.

I say all of that to say thank you for your encouragement and support — your giving makes those resources possible. I wanted to share a few things I love about the Brave Sparrow mission.

  • Brave Sparrow resources are making a difference. My favorite responses from people are when they talk about how a hunger for more of the Lord and his Word is stirring. I’m here for that all day!
  • All of Brave Sparrow resources are free. Even digital copies of the books can be downloaded at no cost.
  • Brave Sparrow is missions/ministry-oriented. It would be easier to make this a business endeavor, there is certainly a place for market ministry, but it’s not a right fit for me. I really love being in full-time missions/ministry. I am now a missionary with Word Outreach Ministries. (Please see the GIVE page for more information about that change.)

So, thank you again for joining me in this journey and mission. I know we are making a difference, even in small measures. It’s a joy to share it with you.

Support is holding steady at 38% of my monthly support goal. If you like to give towards that please visit brave-sparrow.com/give

And for those wondering about Atlanta… still waiting with full confidence.

FEBRUARY 2023 Update

Hello friends! I want to give an update on Brave Sparrow, support, and Atlanta. It has been just over six months since I started this journey, even longer if you consider the few months preparing for it. Here’s where we are.

I am currently the writer in residence at a little place called Mom and Dad’s in Florence, Alabama. They are the most accommodating and gracious hosts. Obviously, I have not moved to Atlanta at this point. Despite my best efforts, it’s clear that the timing is not yet. I’m watching that door closely, waiting for the opening. Until then, I’m in good hands, and Brave Sparrow is full speed ahead.

BRAVE SPARROW
Just a quick reminder of Brave Sparrow’s purpose.

Brave Sparrow exists to create resources that encourage and equip hungry disciples, surrendered leaders, and lovesick worshipers so that Jesus will be known and the kingdom of heaven will be evident on the earth for many generations.

I treat Brave Sparrow like a full-time job and spend most of my work days at the office, a.k.a. the local library, writing, writing, studying, creating, and writing. It may seem monotonous to some, but I’m in one of my sweet spots.

  • PROGRESS — In the past six months, I’ve gone from posting every other week to weekly blog posts, if not more, and creating social media content to complement the material. These weekly posts include discipleship content (prayer, Bible study, teachings), leadership notes, and the occasional timely word I sense for a day. **** I have also started the Brave Sparrow Journal, which goes out on the 15th of each month. The journal has a fresh devotional thought, a blog post excerpt, a project /itinerary update, and ways to pray for and connect with Brave Sparrow. It has proven to be a good resource and way to keep people informed. Not getting it? Sign up by clicking HERE.
  • BOOK — In addition to the progress above, I’ve been working on my next book, Not As Man Sees. This book is a cry for leaders to be after God’s heart in this hour of the church. It covers some of my favorite topics: Pursuing God, Authenticity, Humility, Devotion, Fear of the Lord, and Lineage. Whoo! I hope to release this before the summer.
  • ITINERARY — Lastly, during the past few months, I’ve had the opportunity to minister live through teaching or worship in a few places with some really great people

SUPPORT
I could say support raising support has been slow. But, in hindsight, it was precisely what I needed when I needed it. God is good and faithful. Amen? I will say that because of the way support has come in so far, goal setting and checking are a little challenging. But, then again, isn’t that just another invitation to trust the Lord and ask for wisdom? Yes. The answer is yes.

I spent most of January asking and listening about the next six months making sure I am on the right track. I feel like Brave Sparrow is exactly what it’s supposed to be right now. So, I’m staying steady with writing and creating more resources. I’m eager to see what unfolds in the next six months. I pray it is double the focus, double the hearing, double the progress, and a double harvest. And I pray that over you as well!

ORIGINAL Update, June 2022

Hello! I wanted to give an update on me and Brave Sparrow Publishing. I hope this finds you blessed beyond measure!

In 2021 I felt the Lord prompting me to make more room for writing and discipleship. After some prayer and counsel, I started making strides toward that, and Brave Sparrow Publishing became an official thing. Brave Sparrow is a small beginning to a hopefully flourishing mission that creates resources for the church on discipleship, leadership, and worship. The heart behind anything I write, teach, or post is to point people to Jesus and the kingdom of heaven while also equipping others to do the same. Here is Brave Sparrow’s statement of purpose.

Brave Sparrow exists to create resources that encourage and equip hungry disciples, surrendered leaders, and lovesick worshipers so that Jesus will be known and the kingdom of heaven will be evident on the earth for many generations.

I’ve been blogging on these subjects for several years and recently have started releasing books. In addition to leading worship, I’m receiving invitations to teach and minister through the Word. And, well, I love it! I love preparing, I love the writing, and I love the sharing.

The latest news on this journey is Atlanta, Georgia. In a surprising turn, I have felt the Lord leading me to the Atlanta area. I’ll be honest. It’s still a bit of a mystery to me, and it would be much easier to stay in Birmingham. Except, I know the Lord is saying Atlanta. So, Brave Sparrow and I are preparing for a move.

I am not sure of the big picture. Here is what I do know. The main purpose of this season is to make more room for writing and discipleship. For Brave Sparrow’s first year, we will be a support-based mission. Doing so allows me time to create while also giving me time to make other decisions. (i.e., should Brave Sparrow be a non-profit, business, or something else.)

As with many transitions, the new is exciting, but the practical side is intimidating. Below are the things I am asking and believing God for as I begin to take steps toward Atlanta.

  • A year’s salary so I can focus on Brave Sparrow while sowing into a new city.
    • This may look like monthly supporters/subscribers through Patreon, financial gifts, and other provisions
    • I’m 48% of the way towards this goal as of December 11, 2022.
  • Generate sustainable income.
    • This may look like ministry opportunities, connections, and ideas for new resources (in addition to books)
  • Wisdom and open doors for housing

I value your prayers! Those are bold requests.

Lastly, if you would like to financially support me and Brave Sparrow in this season, please visit www.adrienne-scott.com/give. There are a couple of ways to give.

Thank you for your friendship. I look forward to sharing with you what unfolds in the days ahead.

Now to Him who is able!
