The Response of Yes
Our best and most treasured response to God’s glory is our yes, our ‘Here I Am.’ I’m learning the cure for resisting God is pretty simple. Gaze on him and inquire in his presence—to see him high and lifted up. It renews a right spirit in me. And regardless of when I feel the resistance, I’ve got to get back to the secret place as quickly as possible.

As we set our hearts on your coming and your coming again, I stand before you, Lord of Hosts, as a readied vessel—fill me with your glory. Open my eyes to see you high and lifted up as I open my mouth and heart to exalt you higher. You are holy! Shake every threshold in me. Purify my words with your name, Jesus. You’re the burning one that cleanses me from sin. I can’t stop gazing on you, beautiful, glorious Lord. Here I am.
