In this third issue of Vigilance, the recurring theme is righteousness. I’ll be honest. I am intimidated by this subject. It’s multifaceted, easily misunderstood, and often bogged down in religious jargon—three reasons to avoid writing about it. But I couldn’t shake it. Righteousness is a key component to preparing as the bride of Christ. As always, God has gone before us, making the way. He is so gracious. Let me summarize: God made a way for us, his way is perfect (right), and now, we prepare the way for him. What an honor!
The guest contributor this quarter is Eddie Taylor. He has shared an excerpt from his devotional, The Way of Wisdom: A Journey Through the Book of Proverbs. Get this book! I’ve never witnessed the pastoral gifting so effortlessly demonstrated than when Eddie is talking, regardless of whether he’s preaching, or writing, or in casual conversation over BBQ. Wisdom oozes from his being because he seeks the Lord and devours his word.
