Anyway, I had to learn to follow, yoke up, and abide with Christ in the new-to-me areas of my heart. I’ve had to take a position of humility in these areas so the preeminence of Christ can take its place. These newly chartered areas of my heart are acclimating to my first love, Jesus.
We didn’t know what we were doing, we weren’t trying to follow or create a…
Maybe you can relate. You know how when you’ve been pursuing something or fighting for something for a while you can forget why you started in the first place? I have to keep reminding myself that the purpose of pressing on IS to know the Lord. The purpose of pursuing him is to be in relationship with him. It’s crazy easy to forget that, at least for me.

his going out is sure as the dawn;
he will come to us as the showers, as the springs rains that water the earth.
Hosea 6:3
We hear and say a kazillion words throughout the week but only hear a handful of them.
When Jesus came and began to establish the rule of heaven on earth, people who thought they were just spectators suddenly found themselves in the game. That’s the heart of the challenge of the gospel for us today—we are not spectators. God has always wanted us to be a part of the action, ready or not. So, as we wrap up the Written on Our Hearts series, let’s figure out where we are in the “game”.
