Branches

Maybe you can relate. You know how when you’ve been pursuing something or fighting for something for a while you can forget why you started in the first place? I have to keep reminding myself that the purpose of pressing on IS to know the Lord. The purpose of pursuing him is to be in relationship with him. It’s crazy easy to forget that, at least for me.

Hot on God’s Heels, But Always Behind Him

I have two speeds when it comes to following the Lord, too fast or stubbornly slow. I am learning about the pace between those polar opposites, the better pace. When I’m excited about a direction from the Lord it takes every ounce of my will to stay behind him. When I am unsure about a direction from the Lord it takes every bit of courage to keep up with him. Here are three aspects I’ve found to the better pace. What would you add to the list?

One Step Closer

It takes faith to believe that the very things we want, need, desire are hidden in the depths of everything Jesus is. Curiosity about Jesus will find us close to him, pressing around him like the crowds, but it is faith that will take us one step closer. Faith makes us press in and touch him. Faith makes us open our mouth and appeal to him.
