Isaiah also prophesies the birth of Christ in a familiar passage. It’s so familiar, perhaps, that today I want to be careful to really read and meditate on it. So, I’m asking the Holy Spirit to help me see and hear what this passage was saying all those years ago and how Jesus is continually fulfilling it. Will you join me?
For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given;
and the government shall be on his shoulder, and his name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end,
on the throne of David and over his kingdom,
to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness
from this time forth and forevermore.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this. Isaiah 9:6-7
What stood out to you today? I would love to hear it!

“For unto us…”
God is a giver. He directs His peace, love, hope, etc towards others. I often try to accumulate those virtues but the key might be attempting to give them away.
