Here is a handful of short thoughts today.
_____________
I’m not looking for life in other room. I’m not looking for life in other way. Jesus, I’m looking at you. I’m searching the fire in your eyes. I’m lost in the light of your face. Jesus, I’m looking at you. You’re wonderful. Glorious. Beyond my comprehension. You’re beautiful. The constant faithful. The splendor of your presence has my attention.
_____________
God is real, and he loves you very much. Our enemy is also real and will do and use anything within his reach to persuade you otherwise. As I heard it said recently, don’t play with the Devil.
_____________
In the crucible of a life-long yes, your bower gives me needed rest
You hold me close, hold me still until complete with readiness
Into the depths that call my deep, you carry me with haunting peace
Thank you for your mercy. The womb of every morning.
_____________
I want to be where you are, Jesus, watching where you lead, hearing what you say, and responding in obedience.

“One pitfall we should be aware of is viewing our pursuit of God as a stepping stone to promotion. David didn’t pursue God so he could be king. He was anointed king because he was after God’s heart. There is a difference–a big one. We can’t manipulate God into promoting us, nor can we earn our way into leadership. It doesn’t work like that in the kingdom. We pursue God’s heart because he is the source of life, and then we go where he leads.” (from Not As Man Sees coming 6.20.23)
